Headwood Crossing

Nice jig written by P.Davey. Learned from NicGaviskey.

Two reels

Two new reels, The Lady of the House and The Baltimore Salute (J.McDermott). I’m trying to use Youtube for tunes, as it is less hassle than mp3s. The sound is ok but the cam is terrible….

The Morning Thrush

The Morning Thrush was composed by Seamus Ennis’ father James. My version is based on a rather noisy recording from a session in Bloomsday Bar in Copenhagen.

Midsummer’s Night

A reel I heard first from Murty Ryan (Ryan/Peoples – Time on our hands). Incidentally this is also a Vincent Broderick composition.

The Sheep in the Boat

This jig was composed by Junior Crehan. I learned it from a collection of his music, after hearing it with the Mulcahy family.

The New Broom

Another Vincent Broderick tune, a barndance this time. I learned The New Broom from a YouTube video with the MacGabhan family.

The Humours of Ballyconnell

Just learned a new hornpipe: The Humors of Ballyconnell. A well known tune that is recorded on (among others) “Live in Belfast” by Paul Bradley, Padraig Rynne and Paul Meehan.

Two reels

Two reels composed by Vincent Broderick: The Milky Way and The Crock of Gold.

I got these from Criunniu and their self-titled album. They hook on “The Green Mountain” to end this set.
